Your agent

I'm Matt Chapman.

Life insurance touched my life before I really even knew what it was. When I was 22 my father passed away after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. In our home he was the breadwinner. My mom was a stay at home Mom. As I graduated college to start my professional career my immediate family was at a massive crossroad. Fortunately through financial planning and life insurance our lives were able to stay as stable as possible with the loss of my father. We were able to focus on our grief, celebrate the life of my father, and focus on our healing without having to worry about the financial burden.

I have since done the same for my family and I hope to be able to do the same for yours in honor of my father!

Common questions

Straight answers

What is whole life insurance?

It is permanent life insurance designed to last your entire life as long as premiums are paid. It also builds cash value over time.

How is whole life different from term?

Term covers a set period and usually costs less. Whole life lasts for life and builds cash value, but the premium is higher for the same death benefit.

Can I borrow against the cash value?

In general, yes. Policy loans accrue interest, and any balance owed when you pass away reduces the death benefit your family receives.

Is the cash value growth the same for every policy?

No. Cash value growth varies by carrier and policy, and it is usually slower in the early years. We will walk through how a specific policy works before you decide.

Do I need a medical exam?

It depends on the policy, your age, and the amount of coverage. Some policies are issued with health questions only.

Whole life insurance is permanent coverage with premiums that are higher than term for the same death benefit. Cash value growth varies by policy, and policy loans and withdrawals can reduce the cash value and death benefit. Surrendering a policy early may result in a loss. Availability and cost depend on your age, health, state, and carrier, and are subject to underwriting and approval.
