I'm Matt Chapman.
Life insurance touched my life before I really even knew what it was. When I was 22 my father passed away after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. In our home he was the breadwinner. My mom was a stay at home Mom. As I graduated college to start my professional career my immediate family was at a massive crossroad. Fortunately through financial planning and life insurance our lives were able to stay as stable as possible with the loss of my father. We were able to focus on our grief, celebrate the life of my father, and focus on our healing without having to worry about the financial burden.
I have since done the same for my family and I hope to be able to do the same for yours in honor of my father!
Common questions
Straight answers
What is term life insurance?
It is life insurance that covers you for a specific number of years. If you pass away during the term, your beneficiaries receive the death benefit. If you outlive the term, the coverage ends unless you renew or convert it.
How much term life insurance do I need?
A common starting point is 10 to 15 times your annual income, then adjusted for your mortgage, debts, children's future costs, and what you already have. We can work through your numbers in a few minutes.
How long should my term be?
Many people choose a term that lasts until the mortgage is paid and the children are grown, often 20 or 30 years. The right length depends on your situation.
What happens when the term ends?
The coverage ends unless you renew it or convert it. Renewing usually costs more because you are older. Many policies include a conversion option, which is worth checking before you buy.
Do I need a medical exam?
Not always. Some term policies are issued with health questions only, though others require an exam. We will show you what is available for you.
